Sally's teaching background
Sally has over 18 years of teaching experience, has been practicing Pilates for 30 years.
Her passion and curiosity has inspired her to train with many different master teachers.
She trained with The Pilates Foundation qualifying after a thorough 2 year Matwork and Equipment course.
Most recently she has completed an in-depth anatomy course focusing on Fascia and movement, run by Ana Barretxguren at The Brighton Pilates Studio.
Sally runs an independent studio in Hastings where she teaches 1-2-1 and 2-2-1 sessions on Contemporary Pilates Equipment.
Her Matwork classes provide a workout, depth of knowledge, personal exploration, and hands on, individual attention delivered with a warm and friendly approach.
As well as being a highly experienced Pilates teacher Sally has also been teaching the movement practice Garuda for 9 years.
Sally trained with founder of Garuda, James D’Silver, in 2011 and has been developing this fluid way of moving ever since.
Sally seamlessly blends Garuda into her Pilates classes, but she runs a more Garuda focused class in Hastings on Wednesdays 7pm at The Beacon.
Garuda is a movement practice that encompasses the principles of Pilates, the breathwork of Yoga Asana practices, and the grace of dance and Tai Chi.
It gets into those places Pilates doesnt, with dynamic twists and spirals, and cardiovascular movement.
This technique is a perfect vehicle to explore fascial connections. If you want to be up to date with the latest mind-body movement philosophy then Garuda is for you. It works the Fascia in delicious ways, allowing you to find that full range of movement with fluidity and ease.
