Sally Paffard has over 18 years teaching experience and has been practicing Pilates for 30 years. Her passion and curiosity has inspired her to train with many different master teachers.
She trained with The Pilates Foundation qualifying after a thorough 2 year Matwork and Equipment course. She has taken this training further by studying the Garuda method* with James D'Silva. Most recently she has completed an in-depth anatomy course focusing on Fascia and movement, run by Ana Barretxguren at The Brighton Pilates Studio.
She enjoys bringing this wealth of experience into her teaching to help each individual to maximize their potential, and learn to move with ease and grace.
Sally runs an independent studio in Hastings where she runs 1-2-1 and 2-2-1 sessions on the Pilates Equipment, as well as running local matwork classes.
Her Matwork classes provide a workout, depth of knowledge, personal exploration, and hands on, individual attention delivered with a warm and friendly approach.
*Garuda encompasses the principles of Pilates, the breathwork of Yoga Asana practices, and the grace of dance and Tai Chi, bringing about a sense of ease and well-being.
Sallys' daughter Lucy has qualified as a Pilates Matwork teacher! Lucy started Pilates with Sally at the age of 13 and hasn't looked back since! She holds a BA in Contemporary Dance from the prestigious TrinityLaban Conservatoire, and qualified in Mat Pilates this December with Tula Training. She is very excited to be deepening her training with Ana Barretxeguren (Evolve Movement Education) at their Equipment Studio in Hove. She is a precise and imaginative teacher, with great enthusiasm for sharing the benefits of movement.

Pilates is great for people who want to build up their core strength, avoid or recover from injury, improve their posture and balance and gain a greater mind and body awareness. Pilates can help to enhance your performance in any other sport.
Pilates is effective as it addresses underlying structural imbalances in the body which can create on-going pain and difficulty with movement. The whole body is considered. Lengthened and strengthened muscles improve posture and overall fitness and retrain dysfunctional movement patterns, restoring optimum physical function.
Regardless of age, ability or fitness level, Pilates is beneficial for everyone.
Regular practitioners of Pilates feel a heightened sense of awareness and ease in their bodies, experiencing less pain and increased mobility. This freedom ultimately leads to increased satisfaction in life!
"The Pilates Method of Body Conditioning develops the body uniformly, corrects posture, restores vitality, invigorates the mind and elevates the spirit." - Joseph Pilates
It is this holistic approach that sets Pilates apart from many other forms of exercise. Osteopaths, Physiotherapists and General Practitioners recommend Pilates as one of the most effective forms of exercise today.

"As someone with over twenty five years of experience of Pilates I can most definitely recommend her. She is one of the best teachers I have ever had."
“Sally is an absolutely outstanding Pilates teacher, working with a wonderful combo of patience, compassion, sense of humour, precision and expertise. She knows her stuff backwards, is completely clear in explaining each exercise for a total beginner like me, and obviously knows what each individual most needs physically to progress. At my first session I arrived with acute back and shoulder pain - a growing problem over 30 years as a professional cellist - and feel so blessed to have found her, and really positive about finding a whole new pain free body at the age of 50.For anyone serious about improving the way their body works, I can not recommend her highly enough!!“
